2013 Photo Scenic KY Workshop Weekend Schedule
Friday and Saturday, October 25-26, 2013
Here is the schedule of events for the workshop:
Friday, October 25.....................................
2:30 pm- 5 pm..... People may check in at the registration desk. Once you have paid your $10 registration fee, you may pick up your registration badge. Your badge is your ticket to all events. Please wear it both days of the workshop.
If you are going to enter photographs for the Friday night critiques, please do so at that time. Once again this year we will have two categories: scenics and close-ups.
You may enter photographs you have taken anytime or anywhere.
You may enter THREE pictures in each category. Please bring your pictures on a jump drive, and please have your pictures in two different folders. It will speed up the registration process for all of us.
3 pm-4:30 pm- Tom Hardin, former director of photography at The Courier-Journal and Detroit News, will present a nuts and bolts program about your camera and how to use it.
5 pm- The registration desk will close so we can get the photographs assembled for the critique.
5 pm-7:30 pm- Dinner or photography on your own.
7:30 pm- The evening program will begin. Our speaker for Friday night is Tom Barnett, a Louisville resident and an expert on Photoshop. Tom will be presenting a program on the popular application. This program will be for everyone. Don’t miss this excellent program.
After Tom’s presentation we will take a break and then critique your photographs that you entered. The critiques will offer constructive direction on how your photographs can have added value.
After the critiques we will adjourn for the evening.
Saturday, October 26...............
Breakfast on your own, and then you are welcome to start making photographs. For some of you, you’ll be out at daybreak and then have breakfast.
4:30 pm- Deadline for getting your photographs to us for the Saturday night critique. We will offer the same categories and we may announce a special category. Again, please put your photographs in the two or three folders on your jump drive.
Only pictures shot Saturday can be entered in the Saturday night program. PLEASE JUST ADD THREE PICTURES PER CATEGORY, and have them in the required folders.
7:30 pm- The program will kick off with our internationally known speaker, Lewis Kemper. See www.lewiskemper.com for his biography.
Following Kemper’s presentation we will start judging your photographs.
At the conclusion of the critiques, prizes will be awarded.
WHAT TO BRING:
A camera, a computer if possible, a jump drive, sturdy shoes for hiking the trails, and a raincoat if needed. More importantly, a passion for learning and enjoying photography.
